More Summer Fun!

For most of the summer we will only have 3 children at home!

This is very different for us as a family --
People usually stare at us when we are on vacation
with 5 boys and just one girl!
Now we just look like any other family.
We are still keeping busy even though our numbers are shrinking.

Blake attended a Scout Jr. Leadership Training Camp.
Note the "Silver Moccasin" around his neck.
Brandon left for Palmyra, New York
to be a part of the Hill Cumorah Pageant Work Crew.
Brad is working on his summer beard.

The Lazy Days of Summer !?!

This first week of summer has been anything, but lazy!

We have kept very busy this week with lots of adventures.

A Visit to Heritage Park with our Cousins
Brandon left with Interact for Mexico to work in an orphanage.

The Primary Activity to learn about the Latter-day Prophets
President Spencer W. Kimball's gravesite
President Gordan B. Hinckley's gravesite
President David O. McKay's gravesite
And the little cemetery where President Brigham Young is buried.

Who can guess what the rest of the summer will bring?

Thou Shalt Not Covet

This Weekend was full Big Events that most of you might "covet."
Bryan ran the Utah Valley Marathon -- his first.
He was 42nd overall and 7th in his age group.
After Bry crossed the Finish Line,

It was the BYU Intramural Ultimate Frisbee Finals.

Ben and Bry are on the same team,
but Bryan was too wiped out to play in the finals today.

The Team consists of Ben and his friends from high school
and is named YARRUM (or MURRAY spelled backwards.)
This group is pretty competitive.
They were trailing at the half,
but came back to win the championship!

Their prize for winning -- The Most Coveted Shirt on Campus!

The Pride Cycle!

The last few weeks have had several "Pay Days" for us as parents.

Our children have been recognized in many ways.
Harold's uncle once told me we should not have pride in our children--
but that we should be pleased at the choices they make
and the things they accomplish!

I try hard to remember that each time my children succeed,
But this week I am just busting with pride. . .

Brandon graduated from Murray High School!

At the Graduation Ceremony,

Brandon was recognized as one of six students
who maintained a 4.0 for four years of high school!

Brandon received the Rotary Award for Top Ten Students from MHS.
Brad at 9th Grade Promotion
Brad received the Clove Award for Social Studies.
The Clove Award is named after a former Murray superintendent
and is given to students who excel in different subject areas.

The Clove Award came with $100
and so did 100% Attendance!
Blake completed his Eagle Project!

Gwen received the "M&M" Award
for Outstanding Academics and Citizenship.

Okay enough Pride . . .
Who wouldn't be "pleased" with these children?
