Nasty Beard Contest!

My children give me a hard time
because as I have gotten older I have a lot
of dark hairs that grow on my chin and upper lip.
This is not something I am very happy about
and I have tried plucking, waxing, electrolysis
and even shaving!

On the other hand,
recently all six men in my family
have found it necessary to have facial hair.
Brad is really the only one who can pull it off.
So now I am going to let the world decide
who has the nastiest beard?
 Harold
Ben
Bryan
 Brandon
(Both Brandon & Blake need
close ups so you can see their beards)
Brad
 or Blake???

I know, I know -- it is a really hard choice!

New Calling -- Young Womens President

I haven't blogged in a few weeks
and while I was reading the comments
I realized that I haven't let the world
know about my new calling.
At the end of August I was called to be
our ward's YW President.
This was a very unexpected calling for me.
I am nervous, scared and excited all at once.
I have already had several very spiritual
experiences that have helped me to know
that this is where the Lord wants me to be at this time.

I am also very excited to be in YW with Gwen.
Keep me in your prayers,
and if you have any wonderful ideas,
please send them my way.

What a Difference Three Weeks Can Make!

Lots has happened with the Brockbank Family
in the past several weeks.
Gwen had her last soccer game for the season.

Blake has had no more JV Football Games
since the last one I posted about
since the Murray Coach cancelled all JV
Games due to too many injuries.
(But that is another story!)
Since there have been no games
there are no pictures.

Brad got his cast off his cast off
and somehow I have not gotten any pictures!

But I did get pictures of our returning missionary!

Here is Elder Brockbank fresh off the plane from Jamaica!
No he didn't come home with dreadlocks --
(One of the other returning elders' entire family
were wearing these hats and let
the missionaries wear them for a picture.)

We took lots of pictures so here are some of them:

Our first sighting of Brandon!

Mom gets the first hug.
Then Gwen . . .
 Dad . . .
Blake & Brad . . .
Then Brandon gets to met Sarah for the first time!
It was dark by the time we got home,
but the house was all decorated!
It is wonderful to have Brandon home
from Jamaica and the Bahamas!
Brandon wasn't home too long before
he and Sarah headed for Oklahoma.
Sarah finished up her research at BYU
and surprisingly wanted to be with Bryan!
Their trip took 2 days and they arrived safely in Oklahoma!

It is amazing how many things can happen
in such a few short weeks!
