Six Eagles in One Family

A Big Day has finally occurred in our Family ~
All the Boys have received their Eagle Scout!
Blake had his Eagle Court of Honor

Many Things to Be Grateful For

This was a wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend.
We feasted with the Grant Brockbank Family
and everyone was there.
This does not happen very often
and probably won't happen again for a long time
due to missions, marriages and school.
It was also Piano Recital Time
Brad played "Root Beer Rag"Blake played "In the Hall of the Mountain King"and Gwen played "Ballade Pour Adeline"We also attended the BYU /U of U game in Provo
where the Cougars were victorious!
We ran into Cosmos at dinner after the game . . .and Brandon ran onto the field with thousands of BYU fans!

Our Own Nacho Libre

Wrestling has started and the Brockbanks have their own
Nacho Libre!
Brad has his first match with Alta . . .
pinned his opponent in the second period
and was declared the winner!
Murray beat Alta 57 to 24 on team points!
The reason Brad had to wear the mask was because
he just got his stitches out on Saturday
and needed to protect his face.
This is one happy wrestler who is also one of the team captains.
Way to go Brad!

Ben & Alyse are Engaged!

After 11 years
we are adding a new member to our family.
Ben & Alyse got engaged today.
Ben got the principal at the school where Alyse teaches
to have her come down to the office.
Ben lined up her students and gave each a rose
and a heart telling her one thing he loves about her.
Each student handed Alyse their flower and heart.
Ben was on his knee in her classroom . . .
when Alyse walked in.
Ben proposed and gave her the ring.
We are so happy to have Alyse as part of our family!
We Love You Alyse.

Ann Cannon cursed Me!

In this morning's Deseret News Ann Cannon's Column
was all about how her boys had been stitch-free
until she wrote a column about it.
Then in the past few weeks they have had stitches 3 times.
I thought to myself --
it has been a while since we had a broken bone or stitches.
Then what happens -- Bradley goes to wrestling practice
and is wrestling with the coach and
the coach kicks him in the face and his face splits open!!!

After a trip to the Emergency Room at IMC,
Brad now has several stitches in his face
and can't wrestling until next week!
Thanks Ann Cannon!

Veteran's Day Thank You

"THANK YOU"
Gwen's Elementary School had a very special
Veteran's Day Program to thank all those
who have served and continue to serve in the Military.
Gwen was part of the 5th and 6th Grades that performed.

Gwen was the accompanist for one song.
There was a Color Guard representing the different
Branches of the Military.
It was fun to honor our Veterans like Grandpa Brockbank
and Grandpa Prince

Thank You to all of you who have served us and this country.

A Great Way to start the Thanksgiving Season

A Fitting Tribute

Saturday was the Funeral for Grandma Great Dixon.
Benjamin was the first great grandchild
and that is what he called her
and it continued with all the great grandchildren.
Grandma Great was the amazing matriarch of a great family.
Many of them came together this weekend to celebrate
her life of love and service.
She leaves a large Dixon Posterity which includes
6 children and their spouses.
29 Grandchildren and 37 Great Grandchildren
(and those numbers do not include all the spouses.)
When the Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren went up to sing
during the funeral there were 7 empty middle benches in the chapel!
What a great legacy she has left
and what a great example she was to each one of us.
Our family has been richly blessed.

Happy Halloween

It was very strange to only have one child
get dressed up for Halloween and go Trick-or-Treating.
Gwen wasn't sure what to be, but I think she made a cute jester.
Gwen was also the only one to carve a pumpkin
at home this year.
Ben and Bry did carve pumpkins with their friends.
Happy Halloween!
