Sixth Grade Promotion

This week was the Sixth Grade Promotion.
Blake was excited to be through with Elementary School
and eagerly participated in this right of passage.
Here is Blake and his 6th Grade Teacher -- Mrs. Johnson
Blake received The Presidential Award
(One of 11 to receive this award)
along with 100% Attendance.
Blake has wore a BYU shirt almost everyday to school.
For Promotion he switched to his BYU tie!
A couple of his Ute friends gave him a hard time.
This is my favorite picture from promotion!
I have teased Blake about this girl all year --
and here she is checking him out!!

Red and White

We are definitely a True Blue BYU Family,
but when it comes to skin color
our family has only two colors -- red and white.
Any shade of brown does not exist for the Brockbanks.
Brandon decided he could out whit his DNA
and did not use sunscreen --
the results were a second degree sunburn.
This pictures are a week after he got burned.
I am posting them in hopes that they
will be a reminder to ALWAYS use sunscreen!

Can Life Get Any Busier?!?

Here it is May and like any typical May with Children --
There are lots of Programs, Recitals and Meetings!
We love our children being involved,
but with that comes the opportunity to enjoy their talents.
This week was no exception.
Brandon had TWO concerts he performed in this week.
Here he is playing his Trombone in the Jazz Band.
It was our Stake Court of Honor for the Scouts.
Blake received his First Class Rank Advancement.
As I got "pinned" I realized
that over the years we have completed
5 Bobcats, 5 Wolves, 5 Bears, 5 Webelos
and 5 Arrow of Lights!
5 Scouts, 5 Tenderfoots, 5 Second Classes,
5 First Classes, 4 Stars, 4 Lifes and 3 Eagles!
I have definitely been "pinned" many times!

They are Tearing Down My Jr. High!

By the end of this year
All of the Schools I attended will have been
Torn Down and Rebuilt.
It started with East High eleven years ago,
then Bonneville Elementary
and now Clayton Jr. High.

I have been a little emotional since
Clayton is where Harold and I met in 7th Grade.
We decided that we had better go and take
some pictures before Clayton was gone!

The Front of Clayton Jr. High
(hasn't changed much in 34 years)

The Back of Clayton which is the side we came into.
The Gully behind the school where we had activities and dances
the place where Harold NEVER asked me to dance --
even if "Stairway to Heaven" was playing!

and Harold and Lori now!

Happy Mother's Day (a Little Late!)

I was going to do this post all week,
but I don't know where all the days went.
Harold and I are so blessed to have great mothers
who have loved and supported us over the years.
They have both been great examples in our lives
and we love them so much.
So after nearly a half century of putting up with us --
Thanks for being the Best Moms Ever!
We Love You!

I was going to take a picture on Sunday,
but we were both too busy cooking!

David Archuleta Day (Part 2)

Since my pictures were not the best quality,
I decided to post some from the internet
so we can "clearly" remember that event!

David Archuleta Day!!!

Our Family has never really been American Idol Fans
until our neighbor David Archuleta became a contestant.
Since January we have been addicted watching every show
and voting each week for David.
When David made the Top 3, he came back to Murray
on Friday which was David Archuleta Day!
Gwen and I joined in the fun at Murray High School.
Brandon was playing with Murray's Pep Band.
The Crowd at Murray High School
made up of mostly Girls and their Moms!

(Not a good week for my camera -- the battery died
and I had to take pictures with Brandon's phone!)

"For the Love of Dance"

Gwen had her Dance Program on Monday Night.
She was very excited because her class was dancing
with the Disco Ball to "The Best of My Love."
It was a very cute dance and very fun to have
the swirling lights during their performance.
Only problem -- not good lighting for taking pictures!
Here are a few of the best ones.
